If there is one position where Chelsea fans are not so confident in the player holding down the role right now, it would certainly be the goalkeeper.

Robert Sanchez has started every Premier League game so far this season for the Blues, and seems to have the backing of his manager.

Enzo Maresca is prepared to put faith in Sanchez that he can be the answer they need between the sticks, although not everyone has been convinced by recent performances.

Jamie Carragher described Sanchez as ‘really poor’ during Chelsea’s defeat to Liverpool, and the Spaniard didn’t gain any new fans when he gave a penalty away against Manchester United on Sunday.

The Blues managed to rescue a point from that game thanks to Moises Caicedo, but it hasn’t seen the goalkeeper escape questioning.

Chelsea fans want Emi Martinez to replace Robert Sanchez

Chelsea fans have been discussing the prospect of signing Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez, with many supporters really keen on the idea.

One user said: “If we finish top 4 above Villa don’t see why we couldn’t attract Emi Martinez, would be a great signing.”

Another added: “I like Martinez and Bulka.”

A third stated: “Martinez for me if we get top 4 or even in January his attributes and especially attitude is very Chels.”

Another claimed: “Martinez is the pick IMO. Prem proven and I don’t think Villa would want stupid money for him. Costa/Maignan is gonna be WR price and Oblak wouldn’t be cheap.”

Martinez has previously been described as ‘outstanding’ by Joe Cole, and has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the game.

The Villa man would come into the side with one of his international teammates already at Stamford Bridge. He won the World Cup in 2022 with Enzo Fernandez.

Filip Jorgensen waiting for his chance at Chelsea

The midfielder is seemingly under pressure himself at the club after it has become apparent that he is not currently in their strongest Premier League side.

Maresca has preferred the pairing of Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo as of late.

In goal, Filip Jorgensen is waiting for his chance to impress in the Premier League. All of his minutes have come in the cup competitions since he joined in the summer.
