There will not be enough room for both Liam Delap and Nicolas Jackson at Chelsea next season.
Joao Pedro is currently Chelsea’s first-choice striker, while Emanuel Emegha could be given a chance in the first team.
It means it could become a straight shootout between Delap and Jackson for the other centre-forward spot in Xabi Alonso’s squad.
Chelsea fans call for Nicolas Jackson to be kept over Liam Delap
Chelsea supporters have made it clear that they would prefer Jackson to be retained.
After it emerged that Chelsea could have to sell one of Delap or Jackson this summer, we asked fans on TalkingPoints who they would rather keep.
One Chelsea supporter said: “Jackson. It’s no contest. Sorry Donkey, I mean Delap. But you just ain’t cutting it.”
Another posted: “Jackson is a very important part for Chelsea’s future. Keep him.”
One TalkingPoints user said: “Keep. Jackson. Sell. Delap.”
Another wrote: “Has always been Nico for me. Team player. Unfortunately many remember him for his misses.”
The above is no surprise after the disappointing season Delap had. In 28 Premier League appearances, the 23-year-old managed to score just one goal.
As for Jackson, he netted eight times in 23 Bundesliga outings. The last time the Senegal international played in the Premier League, he scored nine more goals than what Delap managed during the 2025/26 campaign.

Pedro did a magnificent job leading Chelsea’s line last season, but it is clear that he needs better cover.
That is where Jackson comes in, with the 24-year-old having already proven that he can score goals at this level. His overall centre-forward play is also very good.
All in all, Jackson could address one issue in Chelsea’s squad and save the Blues millions. As for Delap, he could help his employers to make some much-needed cash.
Chelsea need to make sales, especially after failing to qualify for the Champions League. Delap is just one individual they could sell to bring in some money. Chelsea fans may very well get their wish this summer after making up their minds on Jackson and Delap.
