It is fair to say that Chelsea fans really enjoyed Alfie Gilchrist’s debut against Crystal Palace last night.
Alfie Gilchrist made his first appearance for Chelsea after coming on as a substitute in the Blues’ 2-1 win versus Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.
The 20-year-old did not have enough time to make a proper impact, but he showed a lot of energy and commitment during his cameo and supporters seemed to love that.
“The passion is just immeasurable,” one Chelsea fan said on X.
Another said: “Already a Chelsea legend”.
It looked like Mauricio Pochettino‘s side were about to drop more points following their 2-1 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
However, a last-minute penalty from Noni Madueke ensured that they picked up a win and moved back up to 10th place.

Alfie Gilchrist could get another opportunity next month
We do not expect to see Gilchrist playing too often in the Premier League this season; however, the English youngster could get another chance to play in Chelsea’s first team again in January.
The Blues take on Preston North End in the third round of the FA Cup next Saturday and Gilchrist will now be hoping that he can make another appearance at Stamford Bridge.
However, looking at how seriously Pochettino has taken the Carabao Cup this term, the Argentine may decide to put out a strong team.
Whatever happens, at least Gilchrist was able to make his Chelsea debut yesterday and in the Premier League. It is a great accomplishment for him.
Before their FA Cup tie, Chelsea take on Luton Town in the top flight. The Blues won the reverse fixture 3-0, with Raheem Sterling grabbing a brace that day.
He was suspended for the recent win against Palace after picking up five yellow cards but will be available for the trip to Kenilworth Road at the weekend.
