Chelsea fans have rushed collectively to social media after watching Joao Felix feature in the Champions League last night.

Supporters on Twitter were all full of praise for the new Barcelona man, as a feeling of what might have been began to sweep over the fanbase.

Felix made his first start in the illustrious competition for his new side against Belgian side Antwerp, and immediately showed all the quality that his price tag has suggested he has.

He found the net twice, putting the starting and finishing touches to a 5-0 home win and a perfect start to life in Europe.

This performance has combined with his strong start to his La Liga days too, with him amongst the goals and assists already.

The display left Chelsea fans impressed, with some questioning why he wasn’t turning out some of these displays at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea fans on Joao Felix

One user said: “Really wondered how some Chelsea fans hated Joao Felix when he was clearly our best player towards the end of last season.”

Another added: “I don’t care, any Chelsea fan that said we shouldn’t sign João Félix doesn’t deserve to have an opinion.”

A third claimed: “Chelsea was the problem, not Joao Felix.”

It looked as if Felix was keen on another season at least at Stamford Bridge, after unfortunately spending his loan time here during a particular low spell.

However, it was claimed that Mauricio Pochettino did not think he would be a valuable member of the squad.

Instead, the manager favoured using Christopher Nkunku in that role, who is of course unfortunately injured and unable to make his debut at this stage.
