Chelsea supporters are demanding Enzo Maresca makes a key change from the side who were just defeated in the Champions League.

The Blues returned to Europe’s elite with a group stage match against Bayern Munich, however fell short and were defeated 3-1.

Cole Palmer put in a standout performance in attack, however there were some uncharacteristic errors from key players such as Moises Caicedo and Trevoh Chalobah.

Another individual who failed to impress was Enzo Fernandez, which has actually been a common theme for the World Cup winner in the first few weeks of the season.

Enzo Maresca criticised Fernandez’s performance against Fulham despite the fact that he had scored and assisted in the game, however he didn’t have that attacking impact against Bayern.

Chelsea fans want Andrey Santos to replace Enzo Fernandez

He was replaced with ten minutes to go, with earlier substitute Andrey Santos fulfilling his role after his departure from the club.

Chelsea fans took to social media after the game to state that they believed ‘enough is enough’ and Santos should replace Fernandez in the squad for the next game against Manchester United.

One user said: “Offside aside, Andrey Santos that is an unbelievable ball. Enzo has been poor for weeks, start the kid. Deserves a chance.”

Another added: “Andrey Santos played 22 minutes of football and made 25 passes, had 33 touches and 4 passes into the final 3rd. Enzo Fernandez played 80 minutes of football and made 16 passes and 33 touches and 2 passes into the final 3rd.”

A third stated: “Enzo Maresca needs to do what is best for Chelsea and bench Enzo Fernandez in favour of Andrey Santos on Saturday. Enough is enough. Do the right thing.”

One simply put: “Andrey Santos should be a starter.”

Finally, one user said: “I’m keen to see Andrey Santos get a consistent run of games in the middle next to Moi, I think he is class.”

Andrey Santos wants his chance

Santos featured for Brazil during the recent international break, and has established himself as one of the top young midfielders in the game from his time at Strasbourg.

Chelsea turned down a bid for Santos in the final hours of the transfer window, however Maresca will need to give him regular chances soon in the first team squad.

He is clearly good enough to play for the majority of teams in Europe, and could become a key player for nearly anyone if he did leave Stamford Bridge.

Santos will be vocal if he doesn’t get his chance, and he is too good of a talent for the Blues to let slip through their fingers.
