Chelsea fans have started to come around to the fact that Kai Havertz is now thriving in Arsenal colours.

Kai Havertz, 24, completed a £65 million transfer (BBC) from Chelsea to Arsenal last summer.

The versatile German attacker is currently thriving in the Gunners XI, especially since moving to play as the main centre-forward recently.

He scored his eighth goal of the season last night in Arsenal’s 6-0 away win at Sheffield United in the Premier League.

Havertz always had bags of talent during his three years at Stamford Bridge, famously scoring the winning goal to win Chelsea a Champions League final.

However, there was never the consistency in his game to fully win everyone over.

Speaking on The Athletic Football Podcast in November, journalist David Ornstein said Havertz is proving to be very popular around the club during his first season at Arsenal.

We’d urge some caution on him because he’s proven to be a very streaky player, but perhaps something has now clicked at Arsenal.

Chelsea fans discuss Kai Havertz

A selection of Blues supporters on social media observed that former star Havertz is beginning to really improve at Arsenal.

Here are some Chelsea fans discussing him after the display versus Sheffield United on Monday night:

One fan said: “I hate to say this but Arteta actually might be “unlocking” Kai Havertz. Not saying that just cuz of today, he’s been looking like a pretty decent footballer for a good stretch now…”

Another posted: “Arteta might’ve unlocked Havertz…”

A third claimed: “Havertz is playing decent for Arsenal this season we gotta be honest.”

A fourth wrote: “Does pain me to see Kai Havertz in an Arsenal shirt, always knew he’d come into his own eventually.”

Another said: “Havertz could never finish like that for us btw.”

One account posted: “He’s too talented to fail, was always going to be a top player in the right environment and team, we never got the best out of him and the consistent changing environment of our club wasn’t a good fit.”
