Next season, there are going to be so many debates about who the best midfielder in the Premier League is, with Chelsea supporters likely to be at the heart of those discussions.
Elliot Anderson has joined Manchester City for £116m, while Tottenham Hotspur have finalised a £100m deal with Newcastle United for Sandro Tonali.
It was Chelsea who kick-started the £100m midfielder market, though, after buying Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez in 2023.

Chelsea fans think Moises Caicedo is still the best £100m midfielder
Caicedo, Fernandez and Declan Rice are no longer the only £100m midfielders in the Premier League, but nothing has really changed for Chelsea supporters. In their eyes, Caicedo is still top dog.
Following the deals for Anderson and Tonali, The Chelsea Chronicle asked which club now has the best £100m midfielder.
Chelsea won the vote, with 56% of voters believing that Caicedo is still the best £100m midfielder in the English top flight. Who do you think it is? You can still cast your vote in the poll below:
Who is the best £100m midfielder in the Premier League?
Arsenal supporters will disagree and say it is Rice, and there is definitely an argument to be had. Even the most biased Chelsea fan would have to admit that. Whatever the case, there is no doubt that Caicedo is a very good midfielder and one of the best in the division.
The Ecuadorian is exceptional at winning the ball back and has an incredible engine, which he uses to get up and down the pitch.
Caicedo declined a bit in the second half of the 2025/26 campaign, but the ability is there and everyone knows that.
Caicedo has captained Chelsea on occasions, so he could be a potential stand-in for Reece James if Fernandez leaves.
With Real Madrid cooling their interest in Fernandez, though, it does not look like the Argentine will be going anywhere in this transfer window.
