Chelsea fans will surely be left with a huge grin when they see Christopher Nkunku’s latest post on social media.
There’s not been a bigger frustration at Stamford Bridge this season than the Christopher Nkunku injury, which has prevented him from making his competitive debut for the club.
However, journalist Ben Jacobs reported via GiveMeSport on Tuesday that there’s a chance Nkunku could be involved in Chelsea’s matchday squad against Newcastle United on 25 November. The alternative and more likely outcome is the French attacker will return from injury in early December.
It certainly sounds like we’re getting closer to the £52million (Sky Sports) forward’s comeback.

Chelsea excitement
Nkunku, who celebrated his 26th birthday yesterday, uploaded a message on social media to thank everyone for his well wishes.
His inclusion of the phrase “see you soon” is certainly going to kick up another wave of excitement from within the Chelsea fanbase.
Nkunku wrote on X: “Thank you all for your messages. Big love. See you soon.”
Christopher Nkunku arrival
Despite the fact that he’s yet to make his competitive appearance for the club, Nkunku is thought by many to be a missing piece in attack for Chelsea.
Nkunku scored 70 goals and made 56 assists in 172 games for previous club RB Leipzig, so he’s certainly got real quality at the top end of the pitch. We’ve seen in the past that Bundesliga success doesn’t always guarantee the same in the Premier League division, though.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are beginning to finally find their shooting boots in the past month. The likes of Raheem Sterling, Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmar are all making big contributions going forward.
However, we’re confident that Nkunku’s arrival can elevate the team even higher.
Our guess is that the French speedster will drop into a central role, albeit he did play well off the left in pre-season for the Blues. Of course, it may take a little bit of time to get up to full speed during a busy festive schedule after missing the first chunk of the season. He’ll be adapting to a new league, country and team, too!
