Manchester United’s Scott McTominay has paid a huge tribute to Chelsea legend Eden Hazard.

Now retired, Eden Hazard has gone down in Chelsea history as one of the most gifted footballers to ever play at Stamford Bridge.

The Belgian attacker, 33, was sensational for the Blues between 2012-19.

He finished with 110 goals and 92 assists in 352 appearances for the club, winning six pieces of major silverware as well.

Man United midfielder Scott McTominay, 27, has played against the world’s top stars during his time at Old Trafford.

Chelsea fans are sure to love what the Scotsman has now said about Hazard.

When asked who’s the best player he’s come up against in a midfield battle, McTominay told FootballJOE’s YouTube channel: “In terms of midfield players the game changes so much and it’s so fluid. You have people like Eden Hazard dropping into a No 10 role when you’re playing deeper and you have to defend against him.

“He’s predominantly a winger and an attacker, but sometimes you do come up one vs one against him throughout 45 minutes if they’re changing players in a system, so I would say him.”

In our view, Hazard is still underappreciated for what he did during a stunning playing career.

Yes, he took a steep decline at Real Madrid before a retirement in his early thirties. Let’s not forget this was the Premier League’s outstanding individual for a decent period of time, though.

Speaking via John Obi Mikel’s podcast recently, Joe Cole described Hazard as the most talented player he ever played alongside. Our guess is there’s so many footballers out there that could say the same.

There’s very few players we’ve seen in the Premier League division get near to the levels of Hazard on his A-game. He was an outrageous talent in France as a youngster for Lille before taking over English football, too.

It’s going to take a long, long time before Chelsea fans get to enjoy an individual talent in the same vein as legends Hazard and Gianfranco Zola.
