Former Chelsea player Joe Cole played alongside some incredible footballers during his career.

The likes of Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and John Terry all come to mind.

However, speaking on former team-mate John Obi Mikel‘s podcast The Obi One Podcast, Joe Cole named Eden Hazard as the best player he has played alongside.

Cole and Hazard are both Chelsea legends but did not actually play together at Stamford Bridge. Rather, it was Lille where the two met before the latter eventually went on to move to west London.

Joe Cole and John Obi Mikel discuss Eden Hazard

Cole says Hazard is the best player he has played with and Mikel echoed his words.

“He’s the best player I played with, the most talented,” Cole said. Mikel then responded: “I would say the same. Technically.”

Cole also went on to add: “I would put Arjen Robben up with him, but Arjen could only go with the left foot, Eden could go both sides.”

Eden Hazard the most talented player in Chelsea history

Hazard is arguably the most gifted footballer Chelsea have ever had, with Gianfranco Zola perhaps the only other individual with a case.

The Blues have certainly had better goalscorers in their history, but if you are talking about pure talent, skill and technical ability, again, Zola is the only one who can rival him.

When it came to dribbling, Hazard was an absolute monster who could get past any defender in the world. For example, in the 2014/15 Champions League campaign, the 33-year-old averaged 7.3 dribbles per game (WhoScored), which is absolutely incredible.

He also had end product, though, finishing his last season as a Chelsea player with 16 goals and 15 assists in the Premier League.

How badly Mauricio Pochettino‘s side need a forward like that now.
