Chelsea shifted a lot of players they were hoping to over the summer, with more than 40 players moving either permanently or on loan.

This saw Enzo Maresca have a far smaller squad to deal with than was first feared, however there is still competition for places throughout the side.

The likes of Christopher Nkunku have made a real impact this season, despite the fact he has hardly started this season.

His hat-trick last night against Barrow stole the show, with all of the attackers on show starting to prove their point to the manager.

One of those who was handed a rare start was Mykhailo Mudryk. It was claimed he could well have been fighting for his Chelsea career last night.

Mykhailo Mudryk being given chance to succeed

It looks as if he has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, and needs a quick turnaround to keep his place close to the starting side.

Fabrizio Romano has stated that it could be last chance saloon for Mudryk this summer, after an offer was rejected for him over the summer.

He said: “Chelsea had the opportunity to sell Mudryk this summer, German club offered a concrete possibility, but Chelsea said no, they keep trusting his potential, but they want to see a development, also with the coaching staff.

“Mudryk’s performances this season will be important for his future.”

Serious competition for places at Chelsea

Competition for places out wide has never been higher at Chelsea, with Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke seen as the starting pair in the Premier League last time out.

This has left Neto struggling to break into the side despite his big money move over the summer, however the plethora of fixtures are going to give plenty of opportunities for the whole squad to feature.

Chelsea owner Behdad Eghbali is reportedly desperate for Mudryk to succeed, however there is no doubt a ticking clock regarding his future at Chelsea.
