Reports have claimed that Chelsea have now made a big step towards developing Stamford Bridge.
According to the Evening Standard, the Blues have had a bid accepted to purchase the site surrounding the stadium in order to begin work on expanding the ground.
It has been a constant area of conversation for a number of seasons now around Chelsea, as to when they were going to get Stamford Bridge on par with the stadium of some of their rivals.

Just in London, Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham United have all unveiled incredible new stadiums in the last 15 years or so, seeing them take a step up from where they were before.
This process of course has its opposition. Many long-term match goers have extremely fond memories of the stadium as it is, and would be apposed to any changes.

However, with clubs all around the Premier League making steps to be seen on par with the ‘big six’, any necessary steps must be taken by the club to retain their status.
One figure who has seemingly been a big fan of expansion is Todd Boehly, ever since he took over the club back last year.

The American has shaken a number of things up since he took over both on and off the pitch.
The Chelsea team that lines up for matches every week is completely unrecognisable from the one who was there when he first took the reins, and the way they attack the transfer market has also changed drastically too.
Any edits to the stadium may still take a while to come to fruition, but it is one reason to be excited for the future.
