Reports have claimed that Chelsea have now been offered the chance to sign one top striker during this January transfer window.
According to HITC Football, the Blues have now been given the opportunity to sign Karim Benzema after his situation over in Saudi Arabia has remained unsolved.
Benzema has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this month as an option who would greatly strengthen their ranks up top for the rest of this season.
His age and current club status would mean he is likely to only be available on loan, however this could actually suit Chelsea even more given what they are reportedly looking to do in the transfer market.
It has been widely claimed that their dream target is Victor Osimhen, who is currently plying his trade for Napoli.
However, his new contract has made a January move near enough impossible to pull off, and therefore that one is likely to have to wait until the end of the season.
Chelsea offered Benzema
If they are looking for an intermediary, they could not have to look any further than Benzema, who has been described countless times in his career as ‘world-class’.
Now, it has been claimed by HITC that the Blues have been offered the chance to sign the France international on a short-term basis.
Any decision made may rely on what they decide to do with Armando Broja, who is the only recognised striker at the club while Nicolas Jackson is at the African Cup of Nations.
It has been claimed that they are open to the sale of the academy graduate if a bid comes in that matches their asking price.
Chelsea are not the only European side who are reportedly interested in a deal to bring Benzema in though. His former club Lyon are reportedly dreaming of getting a return sorted this month.
