Chelsea fans will be pleased with the start their side have made to the season under a brand new manager.

Enzo Maresca has impressed greatly in what is actually his first campaign as a Premier League manager, with the Blues currently sitting in the top four.

A number of their individuals have consistently shown their quality, with Cole Palmer taking the majority of the headlines for his superb start to the season.

As well as the England international, the likes of Nicolas Jackson, Moises Caicedo and Levi Colwill have established themselves as the first names on the teamsheet every week.

If there is a position where supporters would still like to see strengthened, then it is certainly the goalkeeper role.

Robert Sanchez has started every game there in the Premier League this season, however his weaknesses were on full display as he was at fault for both conceded goals against Brighton at the weekend.

Chelsea should sign Mads Hermansen in January

Chelsea can address the role with the signing of Mads Hermansen, a player Maresca knows well from their time together at Leicester.

The 24-year-old was in inspired form despite defeat at Arsenal at the weekend despite defeat, with his shot stopping abilities on display.

He is also extremely comfortable with the ball at his feet, an area Sanchez is not perfect, as shown by Brighton’s second goal at Stamford Bridge.

Filip Jorgensen yet to start a Premier League game

The Blues did sign a goalkeeper over the summer in the form of Filip Jorgensen, however he is yet to be seen in a Premier League starting side.

He will get another chance to impress in the Conference League this week, although the fact he is yet to displace Sanchez suggests there may not be much confidence that he can do so.

Hermansen already has proven he is a serious option for Premier League sides, and another player familiar with Maresca’s style of play would certainly be a bonus for the Blues.
