Chelsea players pulled out their best performance of the campaign in its final game as they were crowned the greatest club in the world.

11 months after their season got underway under Enzo Maresca, and no one would have pictured them winning the Club World Cup after their 2-0 defeat that opened up the season against Manchester City.

This is exactly what happened though, with Chelsea running out 3-0 winners over Champions League holders PSG at the MetLife stadium.

As has frequently been the case over the past two seasons, Cole Palmer was the star of the show for the Blues, scoring twice in the first half and announcing himself on the global stage.

Chelsea hero Ramires celebrates wildly as Blues win Club World Cup

Palmer scored a 10/10 on our player ratings for the final, and his first goal was the moment where everyone believed that Chelsea had come to play in the big game.

As Blues fans celebrated around the world, former midfielder Ramires was one of those who was sent crazy by the goal.

Wearing a Chelsea shirt, the Brazilian was seen running off and celebrating with his son after Palmer found the net.

Ramires was part of the Blues side who took part in the Club World Cup in its old format back in 2012, however they were not able to win the trophy despite playing just two games.

Chelsea boasted the unwanted record of being the only European side not to win the competition from 2006 onwards, although they did rectify their errors with victory in 2021.

Ramires’ career after leaving Chelsea

After six very good years as a Chelsea player, Ramires moved on from Stamford Bridge in 2016, moving to China and Jiangsu Suning.

He spent a season at Palmeiras before retiring, with the Brazilian side being one of the clubs who the Blues faced on their road to winning the Club World Cup.

The game against them was notable for Estevao Willian’s impact. The youngster scored a brilliant goal in his final game for them before his pending move to Chelsea.

There will be huge excitement from any player joining the Blues in their current position, and many Chelsea players have already admitted they are excited to feature alongside Estevao in the coming years.
