Frank Lampard is a Chelsea legend, but he is also on course to become a Coventry City one at this rate.
Lampard succeeded Mark Robins as Coventry manager last November and has completely turned the team’s fortunes around.
When he took over the Sky Blues, he found them 17th in the Championship table, just two points above the relegation zone. However, they are now fifth and in the play-off places.
Coventry recently ended a dreadful run against Preston North End, one of Lampard’s several achievements at the club so far.

Frank Lampard guides Coventry to eight wins in nine league games
Last month, Coventry also beat Swansea City. It was their first victory away at the Swans in 75 years!
Lampard has not stopped at Swansea and Preston, though. Coventry beat Oxford United 3-2 over the weekend, which means they have now made it eight wins in their last nine league games.

It is the first time that they have done that in over 55 years. The job that the Chelsea legend is doing, then, is an incredible one.
Next up for his side is the visit of Stoke City. Stoke are currently 19th in the Championship table, one place lower than Oxford, so Coventry will fancy their chances.
From a Chelsea perspective, fans will be happy to see Lampard doing so well. Coventry have beaten QPR as well under the 46-year-old, which would have pleased Blues supporters.
Lampard has been in the Championship play-offs before, taking Derby County there in 2019. He will be hoping to go one step further with Coventry if they get to Wembley after losing 2-1 to Aston Villa in the final with the Rams.

Frank Lampard and Coventry predicted to make play-offs
Before their win against Oxford, Opta’s supercomputer had already worked out some probabilities regarding final positions for the Championship table.
It made for good reading for Coventry fans, with the Sky Blues given a 23.9% chance of coming fifth and a 19.5% chance of coming sixth, and that was prior to Saturday.
Those were the two highest probabilities Opta’s supercomputer gave, so if you are into numbers, there is good reason to believe that Lampard could end up doing something special at Coventry this season.
