Chelsea are pushing hard to complete one more signing before the transfer window temporarily closes at 7pm on Tuesday.
The Blues want Jamie Gittens in their squad for the Club World Cup, however have so far not been able to reach an agreement with Borussia Dortmund over his transfer.
Dortmund believe other clubs will bid more for Gittens, and they can get more value out of him by not doing business until the window reopens again later this month.
However, Chelsea are keen to boast a new-look attack in the United States. Liam Delap is already confirmed to be on his way with the first team for the competition.

Chelsea make last-ditch effort to sign Jamie Gittens before deadline
With time running out for the Blues to get the deal done, they have launched one last attempt to try and secure the English winger in time for the trip.
Journalist Fabrice Hawkins has stated that Chelsea have submitted an improved bid to try and complete the deal, upping their offer from the previous one.
He said: “Exclusive: Chelsea have submitted new bid for Jamie Gittens: €50m. Agreement between the Blues and the winger already in place as revealed: 7 year contract.”
The Blues look set to miss out on Mike Maignan on deadline day after failing to come to an agreement with AC Milan over the transfer fee.
However, with their attack undergoing major changes this summer, it is clear that they would like his services in time for Enzo Maresca to get a good look at him before the new Premier League season.

Chelsea hoping Jadon Sancho can assist in Gittens deal
One of the big reasons a new left winger is wanted at the club is due to the departure of Jadon Sancho following his season-long loan from Manchester United.
In his attempt to look for a new club, Sancho is a target of Dortmund after two successful spells there in the past.
The addition of the England international could make the Bundesliga side more willing to part ways with their promising star due to already having a replacement in their ranks.
With time running out though, it may be a case of offering enough money in the final hours to secure his signing in time for the opening game against LAFC next week.
