Chelsea may have dropped hint that 18-year-old youngster will make his debut against Heidenheim

Chelsea are currently preparing for their midweek clash against German Bundesliga side Heidenheim in Europe.

The Blues are back in action on Thursday evening in the Conference League group stages, where they have three wins from three so far to launch themselves to the top of the table.

Enzo Maresca, the Chelsea manager, has used the European competition this season to rotate his squad. Chelsea’s predicted line-up against Heidenheim includes wholesale changes from Saturday’s 2-1 Premier League victory over Leicester City.

Maresca has also used the Conference League to promote several youngsters from the Chelsea academy into the senior group as well.

Chelsea hint Kiano Dyer will be with the first team vs Heidenheim

Chelsea play in Germany tomorrow against Heidenheim, who currently sit 15th in the Bundesliga table.

Kiano Dyer, who turned 18 earlier this month, may be with the travelling Blues squad if you read between the lines.

The midfield star is a regular for the Under-21s Blues side this campaign, but he was completely absent from the matchday squad as the development team beat Real Sociedad 2-1 on Tuesday night in the Premier League International Cup.

Therefore, Chelsea may have dropped a hint that Dyer will be with the first-team group on Thursday for the Conference League. Let’s wait and see if Maresca includes him in the travelling squad.

The 18-year-old Englishman is yet to make his first-team debut, but he was an unused substitute earlier in the season when the Blues beat Gent 4-2 in the Conference League group stages.

Chelsea youngster Dyer is attracting widespread transfer interest as his reputation continues to grow. Hopefully, there’s a pathway for him to succeed at Stamford Bridge, starting with his first senior minutes this week.

Can Kiano Dyer emulate Tyrique George?

There’s a possible hint that Dyer will be handed his senior debut by Chelsea on Thursday. In fairness, Maresca has shown he’s willing to play the club’s youngsters in these cup competitions.

Tyrique George, 18, is a fellow upcoming talent from the Blues academy.

The teenage attacker has played five first-team games this season under Maresca, including all three group stage matches in the Conference League.

Maresca praised George as “very good” after Chelsea beat Noah earlier this month in Europe.
