It has been claimed that Chelsea are not done yet when it comes to bringing in new defenders this summer.

The Blues have been looking hard in their quest to replace Thiago Silva after his four-year spell at Stamford Bridge came to end.

Free signing Tosin Adarabioyo has impressed a lot of people at Chelsea in his first few training sessions, with his leadership skills being talked up already.

However, the potential requirement to replace Trevoh Chalobah is still there. It is believed he is still available for the right price this summer.

One player they have been linked to in their quest to do this is Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.

Chelsea one to watch for Marc Guehi

Guehi surprised a lot of pundits at Euro 2024 with his performances for England on their way to another European final.

Dave Jones told GiveMeSport that he believes those performances have increased the money he is worth in the market, whilst also naming Chelsea as a club to watch in regards to any potential deal.

He said: “But, in turn, his value is going up too – so who is going to pay upwards of £60million for him in the coming weeks? They have every reason to expect £65 million for him in the current market.

“Chelsea and Liverpool are two clubs to pay some attention to as the player now refocuses and considers what he wants next in his career. His ambition will be heightened.”

Guehi to reject new Crystal Palace contract

Guehi is reportedly set to reject a new contract at Palace in order to boost his chances of a move away, and arriving at Stamford Bridge would see him back in familiar territory.

He spent the best part of 15 years as part of Chelsea, however opportunities to represent the first team were limited to two in the EFL Cup.

The ability he has shown over the last couple of seasons as well as for his country suggests this could be a super signing for Chelsea if they were to make it.

His Premier League experience is certainly a bonus too, with the Blues not having a great deal of that running through their backline.
