Reports have claimed that Chelsea are now expected to make a move to sign Ivan Toney in the January transfer window.
According to The Independent, the Blues will look to be one of the big clubs that get the deal worth up to £65m done in the next transfer window.
Despite Mauricio Pochettino’s strong start to life at Chelsea, it certainly looks as if they are still missing a regular goalscorer to play up front.

Those hopes were put on summer signing Nicolas Jackson at the beginning of the season, and it would be unfair to rule his time at Stamford Bridge so far as a failure.
However, it is noticeable that finding the net has not been his strong point, leaving fans looking elsewhere for options.
Toney certainly provides one of these, and his ban that has lasted this season has seen him not feature for Brentford so far.
Despite this, his credentials in the Premier League speak for themselves. He was only behind Erling Haaland and Harry Kane for goalscorers in the prior campaign.
Chelsea expected to move for Toney
It is no secret that he is keen on getting himself a move elsewhere when he returns to action, and the move is likely to see him remain in London based on those who have registered interest.
Now, in an attempt perhaps to jump the gun on other clubs around them, Chelsea are reportedly expected to make their move to bring him in during the January transfer window, rather than the summer.
It has previously been claimed that Toney would have no problem agreeing personal terms with the club, and they will have noted the stronger domestic positions that the North London sides hold at the moment.
However, just watching Chelsea play and the chances they create should be more than enough evidence for a top striker that they could succeed at Stamford Bridge if they made the move.
