Reports have claimed that Chelsea are now in regular contact with Andrey Santos regarding his current loan deal at Nottingham Forest.
According to The Athletic, the Blues are monitoring the situation after things have not got off to the best possible start at the Premier League side.
There were some that thought that Santos was going to remain at Stamford Bridge this season, after what had been a relatively successful pre-season with the side.

He played a lot in Chelsea’s unbeaten tour of the United States, as some of the more senior players joined up with the squad at later dates.
However, it was determined that a loan spell away would be the best possible route to first team football for him, and they were not short of interest in him.
Numerous Champions League sides, notably including Porto, were keen to bring him in. However, a domestic loan was the option preferred by the club.

He ended up at Nottingham Forest, before they went on to sign a number more midfielders before the window came to a close.
Santos is now yet to start in the Premier League for his new club, and there will be plenty who are concerned at the lack of gametime he is receiving there.

The midfield position is one where there is already plenty of competition at Stamford Bridge.
Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo are almost certainly going to be starters for as long as they are at the club, although a supporting cast is going to be crucial when rotation comes into things.
Already though, Romeo Lavia, Conor Gallagher and Lesley Ugochukwu are part of the squad, and any youngsters coming on are going to have a tough time of things.
