Chelsea now keen on signing ‘unpredictable’ winger who embarrassed Manchester City this season

Chelsea are looking at plenty of options to strengthen their first-team squad in the final few days of the January transfer window.

They have so far only added Trevoh Chalobah to their ranks after recalling him from his loan spell away, however recent form has seen them drop out of the top four and require more reinforcements.

It feels as if an attacker is high up on their shortlist after the goals have dried up of late. With Nicolas Jackson out of form, it is difficult to see where they will come from other than Cole Palmer.

Chelsea keen on signing Anis Hadj-Moussa

For this reason, both strikers and wingers have been frequently mentioned as targets for the Blues in January.

They have been looking all around Europe, and have reportedly been impressed with what they have seen from Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj-Moussa.

The 22-year-old has six goals to his name in all competitions this season and has received praise from some of the biggest figures in the sport.

Former Blue Ruud Gullit is a big fan of the Algerian, describing him as ‘unpredictable’.

The Blues are reportedly keen on bringing Hadj-Moussa in this month, and according to Foot Mercato are interested in signing him ahead of the likes of Liverpool.

Hadj-Moussa embarrassed Manchester City this season

Arguably Hadj-Moussa’s best performances this season have come in the Champions League, a competition where Feyenoord have already comfortably booked their place in the next round.

One of the biggest moments of their group stage campaign so far was a 3-3 draw with Manchester City, a game where they were 3-0 down with around 15 minutes to play.

The winger got the comeback underway with a goal, and their resilience piled more misery on Pep Guardiola and co at the time.

City look somewhat back to their best though, and overtook Chelsea in the league after beating them at the weekend.

The Blues are keen on a number of attackers in the final week of January, with them today being linked with the big-money addition of Jhon Duran.
