Reports have claimed that Chelsea are under the impression they have two of the three best players in the world in the left centre-back role.
According to The Athletic, they think that both Levi Colwill and Benoit Badiashile are amongst the greatest players in the world in the same position.
This season has been the start of the Colwill era at Stamford Bridge. He has started every single game for the club this season, including the League Cup tie.

He has been dragged into somewhat of a left-back position this season as Mauricio Pochettino has been insistent on starting Ben Chilwell at left-wing up to now.
It remains to be seen if he will reconsider this after the indifferent start to the season for the Blues.
Chelsea think Colwill and Badiashile best in the world
If he does, it could involve a change at the back that sees Badiashile return to the fold after an injury disrupted his start to the campaign.
There were undoubtedly fears that he could be left behind as far as the pecking order is concerned if the Englishman hit the ground running at Stamford Bridge.

However, it has now been claimed that they see the duo on par, as well as with former transfer target and current Manchester City man Josko Gvardiol, at the top of the game.
This leans into the fact that there could be a temptation to start both players, even if they are both left footed.
Badiashile has experience playing on the right already, and would likely be in competition with Axel Disasi for a place in the team if the manager makes a switch to a more recognisable back four.
