The multi-club model that Chelsea’s owners have been dreaming of bringing to the club finally showed signs of it working out last season.
Todd Boehly and co decided to add Ligue 1 side Strasbourg to their portfolio, and seemed to make the most of it when it comes to the first team.
The Blues loaned Angelo Gabriel there at the start of the campaign, and he got off to a really good start to life in France.

Angelo was named their player of the month early on, however injuries cut his time there short.
Andrey Santos was sent there for the second half of the season, and he showed plenty of evidence to suggest he can make a contribution at Stamford Bridge.
BlueCo decide to sack Patrick Vieira
Those in charge though have decided that change was needed at the helm, with Strasbourg’s official Twitter site confirming that the decision had been made that Patrick Vieira had been sacked.
The former Crystal Palace boss had been in charge for just over a year, however it was deemed that a new coach was needed before next season got underway.
While the candidates for the role are so far unknown, it is believable that they will look for someone who plays similar football to what Chelsea are looking to do.
Enzo Maresca appointed by Chelsea this summer
Enzo Maresca has been hired as the new head coach at Stamford Bridge for the upcoming season, and will be looking to use pre-season to get his message and philosophy across to his new players.
Maresca has been heard firing instructions at his squad in early sessions at Cobham, as the players prepare for a busy set of fixtures across less than three weeks of action.
It remains to be seen which promising youngsters are selected to advance their football with the Ligue 1 side next season. Renato Veiga is one player whose future remains unclear after being brought in this summer.
