It was originally believed that Chelsea were looking at Adam Wharton as their ideal replacement for Enzo Fernandez this summer, although the Blues are going to be priced out of that move.
The Blues are hoping for around £120m to part ways with Fernandez this summer, a fee currently Real Madrid are still unwilling to pay.
Fernandez is desperate to achieve this move though, and there is still optimism in his camp that he will get his dream transfer this summer.
Enzo Fernandez needs to leave Chelsea for the good of the club 👋🏻
Thoughts?
Chelsea earmark Alex Scott as Enzo Fernandez replacement
The Blues had identified Wharton as the man to replace him, although Simon Phillips believes Chelsea have been priced out of that move.
He said on the SPTC podcast that the Blues believe Alex Scott can be their Fernandez replacement, and hinted that they may not sign a new name to replace Andrey Santos.

He said: “The information about Alex Scott coming into Chelsea. Initially, I believe Scott was going to be a replacement for Santos, but now there’s a chance Chelsea do not replace Santos.
“If Enzo Fernandez goes, at the moment I’m hearing that Chelsea are thinking that Alex Scott can come in from Bournemouth and do the job of replacing him.
“Adam Wharton is the player who they initially earmarked as the replacement for Fernandez, but at the moment I was told this morning that Chelsea feel they’re going to be priced out of a move for Wharton. It’s silly money really.
“Chelsea have been speaking to Scott’s camp since February, and the club feel that this is the summer to get him. Chelsea will try to sign Scott this summer.”
Scott enjoyed a sensational campaign with Bournemouth on their way to qualifying for Europe last season.
Bournemouth are adamant Scott isn’t for sale, however will struggle to keep hold of him alongside other big names as the big clubs come calling.
