Chelsea player not fancied by Enzo Maresca now wants to follow Neymar to Santos in January transfer window

Chelsea are now seeing a number of players run out of patience for not featuring as much as they would have liked since joining the ambitious project in West London.

Enzo Maresca has only been able to use so many individuals this season, with many having to wait for the Conference League in order to feature for the Blues.

One player this has seemingly not suited is Renato Veiga, who is pushing to leave the club in January in order to get more minutes as a centre-back elsewhere.

Some players have not even been as lucky to receive minutes in Europe or the domestic cups though, with them surely feeling as if their time is up at Stamford Bridge.

Deivid Washington wants to leave Chelsea and join Santos

Despite joining for a substantial transfer fee, there have been no opportunities for Deivid Washington, even though he is scoring on average every 60 minutes in Premier League 2.

The 19-year-old’s chance at breaking into the first team look unlikely, and now talk of a move away has come to the surface.

Journalist Andre Hernan has stated that Washington wants a move back to Brazil to play for Santos, a side who are also pushing to sign Neymar on loan from Saudi Arabia.

He said: “David Washington wants to play for Santos and Santos wants the young striker trained in the youth academy to return. The talks between the club and the player are in order. Now Chelsea just needs to say “yes” to the striker’s loan.”

How Deivid Washington feels at Chelsea

Despite a couple of opportunities to feature when Mauricio Pochettino was in charge, Washington has been unable to build on his time with the first team.

People close to Washington believe that he has been unfairly snubbed since being at Chelsea, with his career at first team level very much stagnating in West London.

The young Brazilian has been spotted in first team training a handful of times this season, although it seems pretty evident that he won’t be competing for minutes with Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu anytime soon.
