Despite only moving to Stamford Bridge last summer, Renato Veiga’s Chelsea career could already be over.
Renato Veiga is being heavily linked with a switch to Borussia Dortmund after failing to break into Enzo Maresca‘s starting XI this season.
It has been claimed that Veiga has already agreed to join Dortmund, who look desperate to sign the 21-year-old this winter.
In total, Veiga has made 18 appearances for Chelsea this term. However, he has earned just one start in the Premier League.

Renato Veiga wants to play at centre-back with Chelsea ready to sanction move
Since arriving at Chelsea from Basel last July, Veiga has mostly played at left-back.
The Portuguese, though, can also operate in central defence, and it looks like that is where he wants to play going forward.
According to the reliable Fabrizio Romano, Veiga is “pushing” for a move to Dortmund so the above can happen.
Romano has also claimed that Chelsea are willing to let Veiga go this month but only on a permanent deal.
Before the Blues’ 5-0 win against Morecambe in the FA Cup over the weekend, Maresca stated that he was happy with Veiga.

How close are Borussia Dortmund to signing Renato Veiga?
Any Chelsea supporters hoping to see Veiga remain at Stamford Bridge are likely to be disappointed.
Journalist Nizaar Kinsella is now reporting that Dortmund are not far from meeting Chelsea’s valuation for Veiga.
However, Kinsella says it will still take some negotiating for the German club to conclude a deal.
If Veiga does go on to depart west London this month, it will leave Marc Cucurella as Chelsea’s only real left-back option, with Ben Chilwell not in Maresca’s plans.
Unless the Chelsea head coach is willing to give the England international a chance, the Blues will probably have to buy a new left-back before the transfer window closes at the start of February.
Veiga is a good utility player for Chelsea, but it is clear that the former Basel man wants to be more than that.
