Chelsea’s Premier League form has taken a real dip in the early weeks of the 2025/26 season, however the players have not been impacted in the same way as supporters have.
There was serious discontent inside Stamford Bridge when the Blues were defeated 3-1 by Brighton, after leading the game at half-time.
Some Chelsea fans called for Maresca to be replaced after the game. Club legend Cesc Fabregas is one of the names who has been mentioned as a potential candidate.
However, chiefs at the club are happy with Maresca, with them particularly impressed with how the Italian has made Reece James a key player again.

Chelsea players are really happy under Enzo Maresca
The feeling about the team over the summer was the highest it has been in some time off the back of victories in the Conference League and Club World Cup.
It looks as if this has run through to the players as well. Graeme Bailey exclusively told The Chelsea Chronicle that the players really enjoy working for Maresca, and described the camp as ‘happy’.
He said: “It’s a happy camp at Chelsea. The players love working for him and working hard for him.”
The dedication has perhaps been shown by the fact that there has been a red card in three of the last four games for Chelsea.
Robert Sanchez, Trevoh Chalobah and Joao Pedro have all been sent off, with Chalobah suspended for the huge upcoming game against Liverpool.

Chance for Chelsea to make a statement
The Blues have not had the best start to the season, however have been handed a great opportunity to announce themselves as a serious threat to the rest of the league again.
They face Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, with their opponents also coming in with back-to-back defeats in all competitions.
Alisson is set to miss the game in goal, while Arne Slot admitted Hugo Ekitike was a doubt to start in attack too.
The forward was strongly linked with a move to Chelsea, and has got off to a great start to life at Anfield despite competing for a role with Alexander Isak.
