15 Chelsea players are on loan at other clubs in the 2025/26 campaign. Here we assess how well each of them is performing.

The Blues have consistently stockpiled exciting prospects and used the loan market to help their development for many years.

The West London side replicated their long-term strategy this summer, with three youngsters joining sister club Strasbourg and many going elsewhere.

The Chelsea Chronicle examines the progress of all the Blues’ loan players this season, including key statistics.

Chelsea players on loan 2025/26

Aaron Anselmino

Aaron Anselmino was recalled from his loan at Borussia Dortmund in January after Chelsea heard about them wanting to sign him permanently.

The Blues view Anselmino as a promising defender who should be part of the first team for years to come.

He will now spend the next four months at Strasbourg, replacing former captain Mamadou Sarr.

Ted Curd

Ted Curd joined National League club Boreham Wood in November and immediately became their first-choice goalkeeper.

Curd, who previously played for Hashtag United on loan, has already kept seven clean sheets for his new side in just 14 appearances in all competitions.

Axel Disasi

Chelsea could not find a new club for Axel Disasi in the summer window, so he spent the next six months training and playing for the under-21s.

However, the Frenchman has agreed to join relegation-battlers West Ham on loan for the second half of the season.

Disasi has already made a significant impact, helping the Hammers earn four points from two Premier League games, against Burnley and Manchester United.

David Datro Fofana

David Datro Fofana was expected to complete a permanent exit from Stamford Bridge when he was recalled from Turkish Super Lig club Fatih Karagumruk.

Instead, Fofana became the latest Chelsea player to join sister club Strasbourg on loan. He has only played 10 minutes for Racing so far.

Brodi Hughes

Right-back Brodi Hughes completed his first-ever loan move to AFC Wimbledon just days before the September deadline.

He made his debut in the EFL Trophy against Stevenage, playing all 90 minutes in a 5-1 defeat to the League One side.

Hughes has only played once since, in another EFL Trophy match, but the Blues have not recalled him.

Tyrique George

Liam Rosenior allowed Tyrique George to leave in January after struggling for minutes in the first half of the season.

George helped Everton complete a late comeback against Fulham on his debut and started their next game against Bournemouth.

The winger has already shown flashes under David Moyes that could convince the Toffees to make his loan deal permanent in the summer.

Nicolas Jackson is the key to unlocking Cole Palmer 🔑

Are you taking Jackson back?

Nicolas Jackson

Nicolas Jackson’s deadline day loan to Bayern Munich was one of the biggest transfer stories of the summer window.

Chelsea pulled out of the deal when Liam Delap suffered a hamstring injury, but they ultimately re-entered talks after recalling Marc Guiu from Sunderland.

Jackson has scored three goals in the Bundesliga and two in the Champions League while playing second fiddle to Harry Kane.

Omari Kellyman

The first season after Omari Kellyman’s £19 million transfer from Aston Villa to Chelsea could not have gone much worse.

The attacking midfielder missed almost the entire year with multiple hamstring problems and needs to rediscover his form with Cardiff City.

Kellyman’s loan with the Bluebirds has been decent so far, contributing five goals and one assist.

DISCUSS: Who would win Chelsea’s Loanee Player of the Season so far? 🏆

Chelsea’s best loanees in the 2025/26 season:

Jimmy-Jay Morgan

Jimmy-Jay Morgan’s goal record for Chelsea’s under-21s proved that he deserved a loan move to an EFL club this season.

Morgan scored for Peterborough United in his first three League One fixtures, but he has since been playing as a number 10 under Luke Williams.

Kendry Paez

Kendry Paez’s arrival at Stamford Bridge was overshadowed by Estevao Willian’s, but there are high expectations that he can also become an excellent player.

However, Paez could not keep his place in Strasbourg’s starting eleven and was recalled during the January window.

He has now joined Argentinian giants River Plate until the end of the season, where he has made one substitute appearance so far.

Mike Penders

Mike Penders has so much potential that he might be the reason Chelsea did not sign a goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.

Penders kept six clean sheets in Ligue 1 and helped Strasbourg to the top of the Conference League group phase.

Especially now that former Strasbourg boss Liam Rosenior is at Chelsea, Penders could become the Blues’ first-choice goalkeeper next season.

Dujuan Richards

Dujuan Richards sealed a loan move to Leicester City earlier this month. The forward has impressed for Chelsea’s youth teams since arriving from Jamaica.

Whether Richards can make an impact at the former Premier League champions remains to be seen, as he has only played 46 minutes so far.

Frankie Runham

Ipswich Town recently signed Frankie Runham from Chelsea’s academy on loan with an obligation to buy if certain conditions are met.

Runham is now part of Ipswich’s under-21 team, providing an assist on his debut against Stoke on 13 February.

Ishe Samuels-Smith

Ishe Samuels-Smith was involved in arguably the strangest transfer of the summer. Chelsea sold him to Strasbourg for £6 million, but later reversed the deal.

After returning to Stamford Bridge, the versatile defender headed to Swansea City on loan for the season, where he has not played much.

Samuels-Smith’s lack of game time is even more concerning, as Swansea have been underwhelming in the Championship this season.

Ronnie Stutter

Promising striker Ronnie Stutter has scored plenty of goals for Chelsea’s under-21 and under-18 teams in recent years.

He played only once on loan at Burton Albion last season and was optimistic about making a bigger impact at League Two side Barnet.

Instead, Stutter has continued to find men’s football difficult, making just two appearances for the National League club.
