Just days after the Premier League campaign has come to an end, Chelsea have already been linked with a plethora of signings for next season.
One position that they have been reported to be interested in is centre-back, despite the heroics of Levi Colwill and impressive Tosin Adarabioyo performance against Nottingham Forest.
With reports that Chelsea are planning to ‘go big’ in the transfer market, it can be expected that a number of positions will be strengthened this summer, including the heart of defence.
One player who has emerged on their radar is Lazio defender Mario Gila. The 24-year-old has been a regular for the Serie A club this season, making 43 appearances in all competitions.

Chelsea ready to make offer for Mario Gila
The Spaniard made numerous appearances for his country’s U21 side, however is yet to make his debut for the senior side, where he would feature alongside Marc Cucurella.
Journalist Ozario Accomando has claimed that the Blues are ready to submit an offer to Lazio to sign Gila this summer.
He said: “Chelsea thinks to Mario Gila to reinforce defense. Blues ready to offer 35M to Lazio.”
There is a chance it is all change at the back for Enzo Maresca’s side this summer. The likes of Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile and Trevoh Chalobah could all be moved on if the right offer comes in.

Mario Gila won over Maurizio Sarri
One man who will know the defender better than most is former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri, who was previously in charge of Lazio.
Originally, Gila found it difficult to break into the starting side when he was in charge, however this changed as he began to make more appearances for the Serie A side.
The defender would later praise Sarri for helping him improve his game, telling Tribuna: “There is so much room for improvement. I have improved a lot in the tactical phase and I thank Sarri for it, he helped me a lot.
“The team has improved in the sense that we are a group of 20 players and everyone is giving 100%.
“We put our trust in the coach, and vice versa. There is not a player who is lacking in rhythm or confidence.”
