Chelsea are the best in the Premier League so far this season in one eye-catching attacking metric.
It’s been a joy to watch Chelsea implement quick and attacking football in the early months of Enzo Maresca’s reign as the Blues manager.
In fairness, there’s an abundance of talent in the Chelsea squad, particularly in the forward areas.
The quartet of Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke and Jadon Sancho has been starting most league games as a front four. On top of that, they can call upon firepower off the bench with the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto and Joao Felix.
Speaking via the Premier League’s official website last month, Ian Wright said Chelsea will sometimes dismantle teams with their attack.

Chelsea the top creators
WhoScored data has recorded that Chelsea have created the most big chances in the Premier League this campaign (26).
It’s impressive that Chelsea have scored 17 goals from their opening eight league games, the second highest tally in the division behind Manchester City (19).
Maresca’s side sit sixth in the league standings right now on 14 points. While we hope the Blues keep up the impressive attacking form, they’ve surely got to tighten up defensively to sustain a push for a top-four finish.
Cole Palmer the Chelsea conductor
There’s been a few suggestions that Palmer can do more against the big teams after a quieter display in the Liverpool defeat at the weekend, but we’re not even slightly concerned about the outstanding talent.
The 22-year-old attacker is very much still the individual knitting Chelsea’s attacks together this season.
According to the Premier League’s official website, Palmer has created nine big chances already this term. Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka is the only player in the division with more (12).
We’re confident that Chelsea will continue to wreck havoc on opponents with Palmer in the No.10 role, while there’s so much pace and movement around him.
