Chelsea are still confident that one of their forwards has a bright future at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues continue to be linked with several different strikers, including Brentford’s Ivan Toney.

According to football.london, Chelsea are now strongly considering making a move for the England international.

His arrival at Stamford Bridge could be a blow for the likes of Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja.

However, the same report from football.london also claims that Chelsea still view the former as someone who has a hugely bright future at the club.

Does Nicolas Jackson have a bright future at Chelsea?

He very much could. The Senegal international is still just 22 so has time to grow and develop into a better player at Stamford Bridge.

Jackson has shown his quality at times, especially in Chelsea’s last two games after scoring a goal against Premier League champions Manchester City and netting a hat-trick versus Tottenham Hotspur.

That being said, his opportunities in the future could be limited if they do go on to sign someone like Toney, who now has to decide whether to stay at Brentford or join another club like Chelsea or Arsenal.

It could go either way. A lot of things are going to play their part, like who Chelsea do sign, if anyone at all, and how he performs and if Jackson can maintain his form.

What we do know is that a lot of us quickly wrote the former Villarreal man off after his slow start, only for him to then score four goals against two of the best teams in the country.

If Jackson can maintain the sort of form that he has shown of late, then he really will have a bright future at Stamford Bridge. But he is going to have to work extremely hard, as Chelsea look set on bringing in a rival for his position.
