Injuries are beginning to creep back into the Chelsea first team squad in the early stages of this season.

The Blues under Mauricio Pochettino were arguably the worst hit team in the league last season. The likes of Christopher Nkunku and Romeo Lavia hardly got a kick due to ongoing issues.

Reece James started the campaign on the treatment table, however he would not have been available yet anyway due to suspension.

The other recognised right-back in the squad now also has an issue. Malo Gusto is now a doubt for this weekend’s game.

Just when Enzo Maresca could do with no more issues coming his way, it looks as if he may have been greeted with another injury.

Chelsea’s Filip Jorgensen injured

According to Londonworld, goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen is on his way back to Chelsea to be assessed after coming off injured.

He has yet to start a Premier League game for the club, however, has firmly established himself as strong competition for Robert Sanchez.

Instead, his performances so far have come in Europe, with him also likely to be the starter for any domestic cup games.

Signed this summer, Chelsea are desperate to see Jorgensen live up to his potential and be a long-term option for the club.

Chelsea fans not convinced by Robert Sanchez

A lot of Chelsea fans are yet to be convinced by Sanchez as their number one, leaving a great opportunity for his competition to make an impact.

Some higher ups at the club are likely looking a few years down the line at what the situation might look like between the sticks at Chelsea,

The Blues have already completed the signing for the future in this position in Mike Penders, a Belgian who has drawn comparisons to Thibaut Courtois.

They also have Gabriel Slonina in their ranks, with him off to a very impressive start to life in League One at Barnsley.
