Chelsea’s business model can be seen as impressive in terms of the money made by player sales, however it has to be remembered that players are seeing their teammates, and more importantly friends, frequently move on.
The Blues parted ways with an incredible amount of players during the summer transfer window, making the most money a Premier League club ever has in a transfer window.
The club did a lot of their business in the early stages of the summer. Noni Madueke and Joao Felix were amongst the big-name departures, with the former returning to Stamford Bridge later this season as part of the Arsenal side.
Deadline day mostly revolved around finding permanent solutions for players who are not in the first team plans, however the exit of Nicolas Jackson was big news at Stamford Bridge.

Moises Caicedo sends emotional message to Nicolas Jackson after leaving Chelsea
The Senegal international was expected to depart for Bayern Munich, however a late twist saw Chelsea cancel the original deal after summer signing Liam Delap limped off injured against Fulham.
It has been said that Enzo Maresca lost faith in Jackson towards the end of his time at the club, and he was eventually allowed to leave on loan with an obligation to depart.
It seems as if the departure has left some at the club emotional, with Moises Caicedo taking to his Instagram story to post a goodbye message to his former teammate.
He said: “I will miss you brother.”

Nicolas Jackson played big part in other deadline day business
While a lot of the deadline day attention surrounded the striker, the Blues were pushing to complete a number of deals in the background.
They were able to sell Ben Chilwell to Strasbourg, however Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi both remained at Stamford Bridge.
Jackson’s loan stopped Disasi moving to France, with the forward taking up the final international loan spot available to the club.
Ironically, one of these spots is now likely to crop up, with Deivid Washington set to return to Chelsea after being recalled from Santos.
