Journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed there is still some optimism at Chelsea that they have the opportunity to transform their team in the year 2024.
He took to Twitter that they believe there are two players who can help turn things around for them, and one of them is actually already a member of their squad.
This season has ultimately been somewhat of another nightmare for owner Todd Boehly, after he put plenty more money into the squad to bring in signings.

One of their top additions was Christopher Nkunku, with a deal approved in principle months before he eventually joined.
However, he has only been able to feature in a handful of competitive games this season due to injury, and he is now currently back on the sidelines.
There has always been a reported optimism among Mauricio Pochettino and the higher ups at Stamford Bridge over his presence in the side being the catalyst to turning things around.
Chelsea believe in Nkunku and new striker
However, Jacobs has claimed that he is not the only figure the club feel they need as part of their 11 to transform the side.
He said: “Chelsea still feel a fit Christopher Nkunku, and another striker in 2024 (January or summer) will make all the difference.”
A number nine has been reportedly top of the transfer list pretty much since the season started, however it is believed the club are waiting for the perfect candidate before spending money again.
Victor Osimhen is believed to be the best player to fit this description, however his recently signed new contract has left it unlikely that they will be able to agree this deal until the end of the season.
At that point, they are likely to face more competition for his signature and could actually struggle to get the deal over the line.
