Reports have claimed that Chelsea now think they are being used in the battle to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer.

According to the Evening Standard, the Blues believe they are being dragged in to negotiations for political reasons, with Real Madrid still being seen as the most likely destination for him.

In what has the potential to be the most sensational story of the summer, Mbappe is seemingly going to be on the move from PSG this summer.

Despite being universally known as ‘world-class’, the French club are insistent on finding a solution for his future after a falling out behind the scenes.

Europe’s elite club have been put on notice over the potential deal, with the opportunity to sign one of the greats in the game no doubt appealing to them.

Chelsea are certainly one of these. The Blues have been credited as the English side with the biggest chance of bringing him in this summer.

However, manager Mauricio Pochettino, who has worked with the forward before, has played down the club’s reported interest.

It seems as if the majority of the interest is actually stemming from owner Todd Boehly, and his quest to bring a superstar talent to Stamford Bridge.

He already tried hard to get a deal over the line for Cristiano Ronaldo last summer, and now he is reportedly having plenty of meetings with chiefs from PSG.

The Blues should look to keep themselves distant from this transfer business, with it being claimed that the player wouldn’t really be interested in the move anyway.

They should instead be far more focused on trying to get a deal over the line to bring in Moises Caicedo from Brighton, with negotiations at a standstill right now.
