Chelsea’s sole representative in the current England squad has enjoyed a very strong start to the international break.

Noni Madueke was handed a start in one of the last Three Lions games before Thomas Tuchel officially takes the reins as manager, and did a lot that would have impressed the former Blues boss.

The winger picked up a first-half assist for Ollie Watkins’ opening goal in the 3-0 win over Greece in the Nations League.

Roy Keane was impressed by Madueke last night, with him no doubt looking to prove a point in what was a much-changed England side from their recent woes.

Noni Madueke beats Jude Bellingham in England shooting challenge

One of the standout names still featuring last night was Jude Bellingham, previously linked with a move to Chelsea before he eventually made the switch to Real Madrid.

The midfielder has established himself as one of the best players in world football right now. He has been named in Goal’s ‘world-class club’.

Madueke and Bellingham were partaking in a shooting contest in one of their training sessions before last night’s game, alongside Anthony Gordon and Morgan Gibbs-White.

As shown by the video on England’s official TikTok, it was the Chelsea man who came out on top, not missing a single shot.

It is clear that Madueke has put a lot of time into working on his finishing since the end of last season, with this already being shown by his output improvement this season.

He has scored five goals in all competitions already during this campaign, just three less than he managed all of last season.

His place in the Chelsea side is always going to be under threat due to the quality of attackers Enzo Maresca has at his disposal.

However, the manager has remained loyal to Madueke in recent weeks despite the goal contributions somewhat drying up.

With Pedro Neto, Jadon Sancho and Mykhailo Mudryk all looking for a way in regularly, he will need to show more of what he did for England tonight if he wants that run in the side to continue.
