There’s a Chelsea-owned player out on loan this season who’s catching the attention of the Blues staff for all the right reasons.
Like always, Chelsea allowed several individuals to temporarily leave in the summer and to go play regular first-team football elsewhere. There’s a number of stars in the current Blues squad that have benefited from the loan system in the past.
Incidentally, speaking via talkSPORT recently, Jason Cundy suggested Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk may need to go down the loan path.

Chelsea impressed by Djordje Petrovic
According to GiveMeSport, Chelsea’s staff are impressed by the way Djordje Petrovic is performing so far this season for Strasbourg.
Serbian goalkeeper Petrovic, 25, ended up joining Ligue 1 side Strasbourg in the summer on a season-long loan. He played 31 games for Chelsea during the previous campaign, but the arrival of Enzo Maresca as the new manager led to a change in-between the sticks.
GMS adds that Petrovic could still force his way back into the Blues side at Stamford Bridge one day. The shot-stopper is impressing in the French top flight, and his progress will continue to be monitored.
Petrovic is unbeaten in his opening four appearances for Strasbourg, winning once and drawing three times. He’s nailed down the starting position for a side that currently sit seventh in the French Ligue 1 table.
Djordje Petrovic shares his target
It’s good timing that Petrovic very recently shared in an interview his aim to regain the No.1 position at Chelsea further down the line.
Petrovic said last month, as quoted by Get French Football News: “I am focused on Strasbourg; I am happy to be here. That is my goal, to be No.1 at Chelsea, one of the best teams in the world.”
As it stands, Robert Sanchez is the first-choice keeper at Stamford Bridge. His understudy Filip Jorgensen is playing in the cup competitions.
We certainly feel like the goalkeeper spot is one that’s still up for grabs moving forward.
