Chelsea currently have 12 senior players out on loan in the 2024/25 campaign. Here we look at how they are all getting on.
The Blues have been known to stockpile promising talents for a while now and the current situation is no different.
The West London club have multiple players in each position so there is not room for everyone in Enzo Maresca’s first-team squad.
While many are continuing their development in Chelsea’s academy, others have pursued regular playing time on loan at other teams.
The Chelsea Chronicle looks at how the Blues’ loanees are performing this season, including key stats.

Chelsea players on loan 2024/25
Alfie Gilchrist
- Position: Central Defender
- Club: Sheffield United
- Games: 30
- Minutes: 2,206
- Goals: 0
Alfie Gilchrist has played in almost all of Sheffield United’s Championship fixtures until the January transfer window when the club signed Harry Clarke from Ipswich Town.
Gilchrist is no longer the Blades’ first-choice right-back and also now has an ankle injury to contend with, which he is recovering from at Cobham.
Andrey Santos
- Position: Central Midfielder
- Club: Strasbourg
- Games: 24
- Minutes: 2,124
- Goals: 8
Andrey Santos is arguably having the best season of any Chelsea loanee. The Brazilian has scored eight goals and assisted three more in 24 games for Strasbourg.
He was named the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Month for August and there were several debates among Blues fans that Santos should have been recalled in January.

Armando Broja
- Position: Centre Forward
- Club: Everton
- Games: 6
- Minutes: 179
- Goals: 0
After joining on deadline day of the summer transfer window, Armando Broja had to wait over three months to make his Everton debut due to an Achilles injury.
The Albanian striker has not scored in six appearances for the Toffees and has not played since suffering another injury in the FA Cup tie with Peterborough on 9 January.
Bashir Humphreys
- Position: Central Defender
- Club: Burnley
- Games: 28
- Minutes: 1,988
- Goals: 1
Bashir Humphreys was shown a red card in the 98th minute of his first Championship match for the Clarets – a 1-0 win over Leeds United.
However, since returning from suspension, the defender has been a mainstay in former Chelsea midfielder Scott Parker’s starting eleven as they chase promotion to the Premier League.

Ben Chilwell
- Position: Left-back
- Club: Crystal Palace
- Games: 4
- Minutes: 166
- Goals: 0
Ben Chilwell was never in Maresca’s plans and only played 45 minutes in the first half of the season before joining Crystal Palace in January.
And Palace fans are already pleased with Chilwell after his bright start to life at Selhurst Park. He played 90 minutes in the FA Cup victory over Millwall.
Caleb Wiley
- Position: Left-back
- Club: Watford
- Games: 6
- Minutes: 267

Deivid Washington
- Position: Centre Forward
- Club: Santos
- Games: 6
- Minutes: 267
- Goals: 0
19-year-old striker Deivid Washington joined Brazilian club Santos in January, where he will play alongside Neymar.
Washington’s £17 million transfer will probably go down as one of Chelsea’s worst in recent years as his value has only fallen in 18 months
Djordje Petrovic
- Position: Goalkeeper
- Club: Strasbourg
- Games: 14
- Minutes: 1,260
- Clean Sheets: 7
Djordje Petrovic has started all 21 of Strasbourg’s Ligue 1 games since the September international break, conceding 26 goals with seven clean sheets.

Kepa Arrizabalaga

- Club: Bournemouth
- Games: 23
- Minutes: 2,100
- Clean Sheets: 6
Kepa Arrizabalaga’s reputation among Chelsea fans is still damaged but the former £72 million signing has performed well for Bournemouth.
Cherries boss Andoni Iraola has even praised Arrizabalaga for his role in the team’s surge up the Premier League table.
