Chelsea have been handed their best chance yet to sign Rafael Leao this summer, although are not currently pursuing a deal for the winger.

Leao made headlines recently when he announced he would be leaving AC Milan this summer in order to begin a new challenge.

Chelsea have come close to signing the Portugal international on a number of occasions in the past few years, however have always stumbled when it came to the price that was demanded.

Chelsea not interested in signing Rafael Leao this summer

The Serie A giants are in their worst position yet in terms of bargaining power though, and it has been reported that he could be available for as little as £43m.

This will not be a deal Chelsea look to get over the line though. According to Striver, the Blues have no interest in signing Leao this summer, as well as Dusan Vlahovic, who is leaving Juventus this summer.

The report goes on to say that Chelsea are looking for a versatile attacker in the transfer market, and they do not see Leao as an optimum option.

Leao has been a consistent force in front of goal for a number of seasons now, something that cannot be said for Chelsea’s wide options.

The summer signings of Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens combined for just one Premier League goal in their first season, and this needs addressing by the Blues in the transfer market.

Chelsea hone in on their attacking target this summer

Chelsea have identified a number of potential attacking signings, however one name continues to crop up in their search.

Morgan Rogers has been a target of the Blues for a number of years now, and Aston Villa still reportedly need to sell this summer despite qualifying for the Champions League.

The Blues think they an advantage in the race for Rogers because of their ability to offer him a regular starting role in multiple positions.

Chelsea are also big fans of the versatility of Rogers, and will continue to monitor him during the upcoming World Cup.
