Former Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic fiercely hit back at media critics who labeled his time at Stamford Bridge a “flop”.
Christian Pulisic’s four-year spell at Chelsea was a rollercoaster of highs and frustrating setbacks.
Arriving from Borussia Dortmund in 2019 for £58 million, the American winger inherited the pressure of replacing Eden Hazard. He enjoyed a scintillating debut season, netting a perfect hat-trick against Burnley and driving the club into the top four during the Project Restart period.
His crowning achievement came in 2021 when Pulisic became the first American to feature in and win a UEFA Champions League final, scoring a crucial away goal against Real Madrid in the semi-finals.
However, his Stamford Bridge career was severely hindered by persistent hamstring injuries and frequent managerial changes, resulting in a move to AC Milan.

Christian Pulisic hits back at his Chelsea critics
After being asked about a publication labelling Christian Pulisic as a ‘flop’ at Chelsea, the winger responded with all the evidence you could need to overturn that opinion (as per Golazo America).
“My reaction would be to show them my Champions League medal and show them a couple of highlights and maybe show them the hat tricks.”
Christian Pulisic accumulated 145 total appearances across all competitions during his four years at Stamford Bridge. And despite the criticism, he still managed to score 26 goals and provide 21 assists for the Blues, with 20 goals and nine assists coming in the Premier League.

Christian Pulisic’s stats since leaving Chelsea
Since trading Stamford Bridge for San Siro in 2023, Christian Pulisic has completely rebuilt his reputation as one of Europe’s most efficient forwards.
Over his three seasons in Italy, Pulisic has found consistency, amassing 31 goals and 21 assists in exactly 100 Serie A appearances.
Free from the persistent injury woes that restricted his progress in West London, his output on the wing has fully justified his move away from Chelsea, and he’s set to tackle the World Cup with the USA.
