Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has now claimed that Chelsea have sold him a player who is now on par with Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland.
He told El Larguero that he believes Alvaro Morata is a player that is level with the best strikers in world football right now.
Morata was officially sold by Chelsea in 2020, although any chances at success at Stamford Bridge had faded away long before that.

He struggled to adapt to the Premier League, and never really made himself regular first choice in West London.
This saw the striker return to Spain, and join La Liga giants Atletico. Here, he has established himself as a key member of their side.
Simeone is clearly pleased with what he has seen from the Spaniard in recent seasons, and has claimed that he can be compared to Haaland in terms of what he is doing right now.
Simeone compares Morata to Haaland
“Álvaro Morata is on par with Erling Haaland. In terms of goals and his numbers, he can certainly be compared to him”.
The Norway international showed everyone just what he can do at the weekend at Stamford Bridge, scoring twice in the thrilling 4-4 draw.
However, his great performance was matched by former Manchester City man Cole Palmer, who had a point to prove up against his old side.
His ice-cold added time penalty gave the champions reason to believe they perhaps should’ve thought again before letting him move to West London.
Good form at Chelsea has now seen the youngster called up to the senior international side for the very first time by Gareth Southgate.
While the likes of Raheem Sterling were snubbed for some reason, Palmer will be hoping that the fact England have already qualified for EURO 2024 could see him handed an opportunity to make his debut.
