Pundit Garth Crooks has been full of praise for Chelsea youngster Cole Palmer after his performance against former side Manchester City yesterday.
He told BBC Sport that the 21-year-old’s response to Erling Haaland’s penalty was a definitive sign of his talents.
In his first game against the side who sold him for £45m over the summer, Palmer looked to show them the mistake they had made.

During a pulsating 4-4 draw, it was the new Chelsea man who had the last laugh under the most immense of pressure.
Palmer’s penalty in added time levelled the game up for the final time, cancelling out Haaland’s opener from the spot in the first half.
Crooks has claimed that he was super impressed by the 21-year-old, with him excited about what he can achieve in the game.
Crooks praises Palmer response to Haaland
He said: “What a game of football. Two teams going at it full throttle and with little or no interference from VAR – it was wonderful. The penalties awarded to both Chelsea and Manchester City might have been somewhat controversial but referee Anthony Taylor didn’t need a monitor – he gave his decision in real time and VAR backed him.
“If Erling Haaland’s spot kick was emphatic for City than Chelsea’s response by the young Palmer was definitive. If this kid can keep his head among the bright lights of London and not get carried away with it all, there is no telling what he could achieve. What a talent.”
Palmer has made himself arguably the first name on the teamsheet for Mauricio Pochettino this season, with an exciting link-up somewhere down the line.
Christopher Nkunku is reportedly getting close to returning to training with the first team, and supporters are already really excited about what the two of them can do together.
