Mykhailo Mudryk’s form in recent weeks has been promising, but the winger has struggled overall at Chelsea.
And one fitness coach at his former club Shakhtar Donetsk, Carlo Nicolini, has put that down down to Chelsea not being a team in an interview with TV Play.
The Blues have made so many new signings in the last few transfer windows, which includes Mykhailo Mudryk, so they are a side who are still gelling.
The 22-year-old has managed to score a couple of goals this season, with one coming against Arsenal, but he failed to net at all for Chelsea last term.
While things are going much better for Mudryk this time around, his manager Mauricio Pochettino still wants more from him.
Carlo Nicolini criticises Chelsea
Nicolini does not view Chelsea as a unit right now and thinks that is to blame for Mudryk not being able to find any sort of real consistency at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to TV Play, the Shakhtar fitness coach said: “Mudryk needed to take one more step there, then the war happened. He went to Chelsea which, however, is not a team, in these contexts, even the individual struggles.
“In the national team you can see the real Mudryk, he can do even more. He must find the right environment and a coach who gives him confidence. He has everything to rock, I hope he can show it because he is really strong.”

Difficult for Mykhailo Mudryk to settle at Chelsea
The above is probably not the only reason for Mudryk’s struggles at Chelsea. Let us not forget that the Ukrainian is still just 22 and was arriving in a new country.
That lack of experience and unfamiliarity with the Premier League, on top of all of the chaos at the club, naturally made it difficult for him to settle.
Ultimately, then, Mudryk needs time. And with it, perhaps he will go on to become a successful player at Stamford Bridge.
He has some really good attributes, such as his pace. Considering that, there is no reason why he cannot be a useful player for Pochettino.
As this Chelsea team starts to become more of a unit, maybe Mudryk will find it a bit easier to thrive.
