Cole Palmer has enjoyed a sensational start to life as a Chelsea player since his deadline day move from Manchester City.
In fact, it’s not worth thinking about right now exactly where the Blues would be in the table if they hadn’t of been able to call upon his brilliance time and time again this season.
In the Premier League, he has six goals and three assists to his name, finding the net in big games against Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham and Manchester United along the way.

He has not let his standards drop when it comes to the EFL Cup either, where he will be back in action tonight as the Blues welcome Newcastle United to Stamford Bridge.
In the two games so far, he has provided an assist for Nicolas Jackson against Brighton and Raheem Sterling against Blackburn Rovers.
If he assists for any of his Chelsea teammates tonight, he will have achieved something which has not been done by a Blues player since Cesc Fabregas back in the 2017/18 season.
Palmer could replicate Fabregas
The statistic is perhaps a sign of the lack of playmakers the Blues have had as part of their side since the Spaniard was firing at his best.
A lot has been made of the lack of assists from open play that were provided by Mason Mount when he was here, despite the large amount of appearances he clocked up.
Palmer has not struggled in that department though, with his individual brilliance being enough to open opponents up on numerous ocassions.
He will be one of the first names on the teamsheet tonight, and will be keen to see if he is joined on the pitch at any stage by Christopher Nkunku.
The Frenchman is waiting in the wings to make his debut for the club, and can certainly provide a strong partnership alongside the England international.
