Cole Palmer spoke to others about Mauricio Pochettino before his move to Chelsea in the summer.

Cole Palmer is really thriving under Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge right now, and the attacker recently told Sky Sports that people only had positive things to say about the Argentine when he spoke to them about him.

While they have all come from the penalty spot, Palmer has already scored four goals in nine Premier League appearances for Chelsea.

The 21-year-old has also provided two assists in the English top flight and two in the Carabao Cup.

What everyone told Cole Palmer about Mauricio Pochettino

Pochettino’s handling of young players was a topic of conversation for Palmer and the people he spoke to before his move to Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the English youngster said: “Hopefully, I can show what I can do. I spoke to Mauricio before I joined and it was a good phone call.

“A lot of people told me about what he’s like with young players, and ever since I went to Chelsea I can see it. I’m enjoying working with him.”

Pochettino’s track record when it comes to developing young players is impressive. In his Tottenham days, he really improved the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli, helping the former to become one of the best strikers in the world.

Chelsea fans are already seeing something similar happen with players such as Palmer, who has been compared to Angel Di Maria by his manager, and Conor Gallagher.

Gallagher looks like a completely different footballer compared to last season and has been so important for the Blues in the Premier League this term.

According to FBref, the England international has made 14 tackles in the middle third. Only Bournemouth’s Philip Billing (19) has made more.

Pochettino has not even been at Chelsea for that long. With more coaching from the former Paris Saint-Germain boss, who knows what Palmer and Gallagher could go on to achieve under him?

All in all, Palmer’s decision to leave Manchester City and link up with Pochettino is definitely paying off.
