All eyes have been on Cole Palmer this summer as he prepares for a new season under Xabi Alonso at Chelsea after missing out on England’s World Cup squad.

Following his omission from England’s World Cup squad due to a difficult, injury-disrupted campaign, Cole Palmer is utilising the summer for a vital physical and professional reset.

Stripping away the emotion of the tournament snub, Palmer emphasised that he refuses to dwell on decisions outside his control, expressing a desire to relax and completely recuperate for the first time in several years.

Now focused entirely on the upcoming season, Palmer is channeling his energy into structural and tactical integration under Chelsea’s new manager, Xabi Alonso, looking to return to full fitness and reclaim his peak form.

Cole Palmer makes an early prediction for Chelsea next season

Xabi Alonso won’t officially take charge at Chelsea for just over a week, but Cole Palmer is one of the many players who is already looking forward to what is to come under the Spaniard.

In a video from CoachHarryKing on Instagram, Palmer shared a video of him training during pre-season away from Cobham.

In the comments, a Chelsea supporter commented, “Looking forward to seeing this guy back to his best this season.”

To which Palmer replied, “We will be there.”

Nobody is ready for Cole Palmer’s revival

Cole Palmer is perfectly positioned to turn things around next season, with this summer’s absence ending up a blessing in disguise.

This physical reset aligns perfectly with the arrival of Xabi Alonso at Stamford Bridge. And Alonso’s system relies on technical excellence, spatial awareness, and fluid transition play, attributes that form the core of Palmer’s footballing identity at Chelsea.

Under Alonso’s guidance, Palmer is expected to pull the strings, free from international exhaustion.

Even Enzo Maresca highlighted the issue that Chelsea and his players had from getting basically no pre-season and no break when they were competing in the FIFA Club World Cup last summer.
