Journalist Simon Johnson has shared that one Chelsea player may have actually suffered quite a serious injury last night in the EFL Cup.
He told TalkSPORT (20/12 7:13am) that Enzo Fernandez’s issue last night is actually more than what may have been suggested when he was first substituted.
Fernandez was taken off in the first half, with Sky Sports claiming they had heard he was suffering with illness.

However, the Argentine was clearly emotional at full-time, as he looked close to tears despite seeing his team win on penalties and book their place in the semi-finals.
Johnson claimed today that reports are already beginning to claim that the issue may be more serious than meets the eye.
He said: “Now, the real worry if you’re from a Chelsea persuasion is Enzo Fernandez.
Fernandez could be badly injured
“He went off and he looked absolutely crestfallen. Now, Pochettino explained it away as a sickness but there’s already reports in Argentina from respective journalists that actually it’s a chronic groin problem and that it could be quite serious.
“So, that’s obviously a major concern for Chelsea.”
ESPN Argentina have claimed that the player has actually been playing through a groin issue for a while now, which may explain to some why he has not looked the extremely impactful player he has done for most of his time at Chelsea.
With their injury list continuing to grow, Mauricio Pochettino will be hopeful that he is not set for an extended period on the sides.
One silver lining of the scenario is the fact that it could open up an opportunity for Romeo Lavia to make his debut for the club, and hopefully make an immediate impact.
The teenager is set to return in the coming days, and hopefully bring a similar impact to Christopher Nkunku, who made his debut last night.
