Danny Rose says there’s no way ‘world class’ player can sign for Chelsea

Danny Rose has insisted there’s no way Tottenham’s Harry Kane ends up joining Chelsea.

It’s no secret that a goalscoring No.9 is the missing piece of the jigsaw at Stamford Bridge, with the team’s attack toothless for large parts of this season. Therefore, it’s no surprise when the Blues are linked with centre-forwards in the transfer rumour mill.

According to The Telegraph last month, Chelsea absolutely love the idea of stealing Kane away from Spurs. They add it’s unlikely Tottenham will want to sell the 29-year-old frontman to their London rivals, though.

The England captain is one of the most proven strikers in the business. His form this season has been great, netting 19 times in 32 games across all competitions.

Rose, who played alongside Kane for several years at Spurs, can’t imagine his former teammate completing a move to Chelsea.

When discussing if Kane could join Chelsea, Rose told JOE’s YouTube channel: “He can’t go Chelsea. Yes [that would ruin his reputation] and he would know that and he wouldn’t want to jeopardise that, as much as he wants to win things.”

There’s always speculation around Kane’s future. However, the fact his contract at Spurs expires in 2024 means there’s extra intrigue.

Will he finally seek a move away from north London to try win some silverware?

Described as “world class” by Antonio Conte, Kane definitely has to be in the conversation as one of the elite centre-forwards of the last decade.

It would be great for Chelsea to get someone with his kind of profile to lead their attack next season.

The Romelu Lukaku experiment is proof that you never know someone is a guarantee to score goals in your side, but Kane must be as safe a bet as any to score consistently in the Premier League.
