Darren Bent has admitted that he’s really hoping Chelsea’s summer signing has a successful season at Stamford Bridge this year.
It was yet another chaotic summer transfer window at Chelsea, so supporters many be glad that it’s over and the football can take centre stage.
Blues head coach Enzo Maresca, who himself is new at Stamford Bridge, has several signings to integrate into the group. The club’s strategy of signing mostly young players should help individuals settle.

Darren Bent wish for Jadon Sancho
TalkSPORT pundit Darren Bent wants to see Jadon Sancho do well in Chelsea colours after he joined them on a season-long loan from Manchester United, which does include an obligation to buy.
Sancho has started training with Chelsea during this international break, so let’s wait and see if he’s ready for a club debut on 14 September away to Bournemouth in the Premier League.
When asked if he thinks Sancho will do well at Stamford Bridge, Bent responded on talkSPORT (5:25pm, 3 September): “I hope so. He’s a talented player, but he’s had such a tough time. I’m not saying it’s everyone else’s fault and not his; he’s got to take a bit of accountability, but I hope he does well.”
Reasons to be optimistic about Jadon Sancho
Sancho’s time as a Man United player at Old Trafford must be looked at as a failure, but that doesn’t mean he’s a bad signing for Chelsea. At the age of 24, there’s plenty of time for him to turn things around.
We think that the conventional winger could actually be a great fit for Maresca’s system. If he can force his way into the starting XI amid stiff competition, there’s every chance he could stay there.
The English winger was a sensation in his younger days at Borussia Dortmund, so let’s hope that Chelsea can unlock that player in him.
In addition, the Blues are bound to have a pile up of fixtures with domestic and European matches, so Sancho will surely get an opportunity to show what he can do.
